Another very popular South Tyrol ski resort is Dobbiaco, located on a very panoramic lake and at the meeting point of two natural park: the “Dolomiti di Sesto” one and the “Fanes- Sennes- Braies” one. Dobbiaco is also called “the gateway to the Dolomites” and it was the set for the following movies: “The pink panther”, “A farewell to arms”, “For your eyes only”. Actually two of the most important Dobbiaco guests were: Elizabeth Taylor and Roger Moore! Your Val Pusteria hotel can be “specialized” according to your interest: “Wanderhotel” if you are hikers, “Familienhotel” if you travel with your family and “Golf Hotels” if you are golfers.
Val Pusteria
Val Pusteria is South Tyrol “green valley”, where even South Tyroleans spend their holidays in the mountains. Here you can count on three natural parks: the “Dolomiti di Sesto”, the “Fanes-Sennes-Braies” and the “Vedrette di Ries-Aurina”. Val Pusteria is the right destination of many winter holidays in the Dolomites, as here lies the famous “Plan de Corones”, the “feather in the cap” of the “Dolomiti Superski” skizone, the biggest and most modern in the world. It lies between Val Pusteria and Val Badia; the latter is nothing more than a Val Pusteria secondary valley. It’s possible to pass from one valley to the other with your skis at your feet, thanks to the “Piculin” black ski run.
